About Chef Ilce Basilio and Maria Marques

 

Ilce Basilio, a chef and nutritionist born in Brazil, demonstrated great taste and ability in the kitchen from early childhood. Growing up on her parents' cattle farm in the state of Minas Gerais, Ilce gained in-depth, first-hand experience with the entire lifecycle of a broad range of rich foods, spices, and meats, everything necessary to develop an appreciation, taste, and unique approach to the art of creating great dishes! 

 

During Ilce's adolescence, she met her soulmate whose Portuguese grandmother had an amazing culinary background. Within a short amount of time they became great friends, and one day she entrusted Ilce with the base of what has today became this unique gourmet seasoning sea salt so it is with great honor that it carries her name: "Maria Marques"

 

From the base recipe, throughout years of experiments with trials and errors, this fabulous seasoning was born to elevate the simplest recipe to a gourmet flavor!
